b'To mark 50 years of service, we incorporated fun and educational events throughout the year. We created a special 50th-anniversary commemorative book, which was mailed in June. Additionally, we put together a fantastic 50th-anniversary video, which debuted on Family Day in September and can be viewed on our website (www.newenglandvillage.org).We completed our rebranding feasibility study and rolled out a beautiful new logo and tagline that better represent all we do at New England Village, which we also debuted at our Family Day celebration.Several preventative health strategies were launched, including a new system to track and trend the weights of those individuals we support in our residential services. We worked with Bayada Home Health to conduct a comprehensive fall risk assessment on 85% of our residents. We implemented a Positive Behavior Support (PBS) program. Positive Behavior Support is an evidence-based strategy to increase quality of life and decrease problem behavior. What makes it different is that it focuses on creating a culture that supports learning new skills and making changes within the environment that support comfort, interaction, and opportunities to take control of your life through choice in ways that make the need for challenging behaviors unnecessary. The Family Association purchased 50 tickets to a Brockton Rox game in June for residents to attend with working staff. In July, a group of 20 residents and day program members, along with working staff, attended a performance of Rogers and Hammersteins Cinderella at the South Shore Music Circus. Our Day Enrichment Program and Efron Center for Enrichment members participated in tie-dye activities in July and August. The Family Association paid for all the needed supplies. We are so grateful for their continued support of our programs. Two brand-new positions were established at NEV focused on Quality and Development. Both will help us achieve important short and long-term strategic goals We received a two-year license from the Department of Developmental Services Office of Quality Enhancement in September 2022 in the areas of Residential and Individual Home Supports, and Employment and Day Supports. The review showed positive practices across the organization. Were incredibly proud of the teams who worked so hard to help achieve this licensing. From a facilities perspective, we have adapted several of our homes with accessible bathrooms, ramps, and other modifications to support our residents growing needs. We increased wages for our staff and have increased career ladder opportunities in our programs. We expect this to help us attract and retain quality employees. The year ahead promises to be exciting as we continue to support and encourage the individuals we serve with fun, innovative, and inspiring programs and activities.39'
