New England Village
relies on volunteers to help us enrich the lives of the people we serve.
We provide numerous opportunities for people of all ages to spend
some time with Village residents or day participants or to share your
knowledge or expertise with them. All
volunteers will be trained and oriented to their specific volunteer jobs.
Some volunteer positions may require personal background checks or
medical information before starting. And
volunteers under 18 will require parental consent.
Here are some specific ways that you can volunteer your time or
talents at New England Village.
Conduct
a Long-Term or One-Time Class:
NEV is always looking for
volunteers who have a special talent or expertise and who would like to
share it with the men and women of the Village.
We are very flexible as to when and how long you may volunteer with
us. Through our Office of
Residential Enrichment Programs or NEV Industrial Services you will be given guidance on
how best to conduct your class. Here
are a few areas of interest to Village participants.

run it by us!)

Volunteer
Work Companion: Not
only do we rely on volunteers, we are volunteers!
Many Village residents and day participants, as a break in their work

need a companion to accompany them and to drive them to and from their
volunteer placements. It would be like volunteering for two worthwhile causes at
one time!

crafts, go out shopping, to dinner, or to a special event—do just about
anything friends like to do together.
