Citizen Buddies Get-Together
The Best Buddies Massachusetts Citizens Program began in January
2002. The program pairs adults with intellectual disabilities with
individuals from the community interested in developing one-to-one
friendships. Last month, some residential program buddies were
invited to a pizza and salad dinner at the Sollar Wellness Center.
This was an opportunity for our buddy pairs to see each other before
the holidays and to mingle with other buddies. They were invited to
stay for Open Swim or help bake cookies for our annual holiday
concert. Jon Hartford, the coordinator for the Best Buddies
organization, and a few colleagues had planned on attending the
get-together as well, since they love coming down to NEV to visit;
unfortunately, rainy night traffic out of Boston prevented them from
joining us. Better luck next time, Jon!
