Through New England Village's Planned
Giving Program, there are many ways our supporters can continue their
dedication to NEV now and into the future. Your commitment to NEV is
important, and we invite you to strengthen that commitment by
considering one of the NEV Planned Giving opportunities. A Planned
Gift is a lasting investment in NEV: Advancing our mission and
ensuring our ability to respond to the challenges we will face in the
future, as we have done for over 30 years. All of our Planned Giving
options provide a way of planning for NEV's future along with your
own.
Many donors, once they have completed arrangements with their lawyer
or financial planner, send a copy of the specific section of their
will or trust document that details their commitment to NEV. Although
this is not necessary, it assists us with our planning and allows us
to keep you updated on our mission.
If we know of your generous gift, you will receive our newsletter
Scoops, which provides regular updates about our missions
in trouble spots around the world. You will also receive other updates
and, with your consent, your name will be listed in our Annual Report.
You can also be listed as an anonymous donor. Please know that
information you submit to NEV is maintained in the strictest of
confidence. Plan for our future and yours, review the NEV Planned
Giving Options and give us a call with any questions.
Gifts That Can Support Your Personal and Financial Objectives
Charitable Bequests
One of the easiest and most common planned gifts is a gift to NEV
through your will. You can make a gift to NEV without parting with
your assets during your lifetime. Many people who are concerned about
the future of NEV's work have found that a charitable bequest to NEV
is an effective way to leave a lasting legacy for a cause in which
they deeply believe. The tax savings for charitable bequests are an
added benefit. If you would like to make a charitable bequest in your
will, our EIN number is 04-6144180 and the following language may be
helpful: I give and bequeath the sum of $ ________ (or _______% of my
estate) to New England Village, Inc., to be used in support of its
general charitable purposes.

Charitable Gift Annuities
When you create a Charitable Gift or Trust Annuity, you can receive a
guaranteed fixed income for life while knowing that you are also
supporting NEV. Planned giving through Charitable Trusts and Gift
Annuities offers an opportunity to leverage your commitment to NEV
while also receiving substantial individual tax benefits.

Charitable Trusts
A Charitable Trust is a legal trust that has a charitable
beneficiary. In a Charitable Remainder Trust, the charity receives the
remainder after a beneficiary of the donor's choosing receives income
for a period of time. In a Charitable Lead Trust, NEV receives the
income for a period of time after which the assets are passed to the
donor's beneficiary. They are particularly useful for assets that have
appreciated in value and for managing capital gains and gift taxes.

Gifts of Life Insurance
Another way to provide for NEV is to name NEV a beneficiary
of any individual or group term life insurance policy. You will get an
estate tax deduction for insurance proceeds that pass on to NEV upon
your death. You can gift a new or existing policy as well as designate
NEV as the beneficiary.

Retirement Plans and
Other Investments
These plans have tax benefits for accumulating assets but at death
they may be subjected to both income and estate taxes. Without
planning, over 60% of the value of your tax-deferred accounts may go
to paying taxes. Gifting these accounts makes use of the full value of
the assets.
