Mike Reed came to live at the Village in 1975. Mike decided to retire from full time work in 1996 and he has created a busy schedule for himself with a range of activities. He went swimming once a week, music, art, and fitness classes. He was a fan of all things Elvis and has been to Graceland. Mike was a dancer from head to toe and at every chance he really rocks! Mike enjoyed taking care of his apartment, which he shared with three roommates In art class as in his life, Mike looked for the beauty of each moment, delighting the viewer with color consistency and realism. Mike enjoyed sharing a good chuckle during art class and puts us at ease by singing an Elvis tune, helping us to be to reminded of the spontaneous, joyous moments in life. Our dear friend Michael Reed passed away on October 12, 2006; however his joyful spirit and unique perspective will live on forever in his artwork.
