John Deloury came to the Village in 1984. He worked full time for ten years and then decided he would rather spend his time in other ways. He is very close to his family and visits them often, flying down to Florida in the winter months. John enjoys quiet, well-ordered surroundings. He likes taking long walks with a friend. It is most important to John to be able to express himself in his own way and he has come to value art class for this reason. John also takes fitness and music classes, goes to the library weekly and enjoys going to the movies, baseball games, and cultural event. What at first glance appears to be a grouping of abstract circular shapes, actually leads the viewer to recognize the essence
of John's subject matter. A red circle amongst a green field
of clustered rings simply gives the suggestion of a singular
red poppy in a green field.
