How
much does it cost to live at New England Village?
Cost for each resident is determined
by the level of staff supervision that the resident requires. A preliminary
assessment of the needs of your family member must be made before cost can
be discussed. Fees are all inclusive, with the exception of medical
insurance, personal items, and a few special activities and services. Under
the current tax code, New England Village fees qualify as a medical tax
deduction. Massachusetts residents may be eligible for full or partial
support from the State's Department of Mental Retardation.

What
is the admission process?
After an Application for Admission is
completed on behalf of a potential resident, and if an opening exists that
is appropriate for your family member, a thorough evaluation process is
begun. If no suitable opening is available, a preliminary evaluation is
completed and your family member's application is kept on file. You are then
notified when an appropriate opening becomes available.
When notified of an opening, you
will be encouraged to bring your family member to New England Village for a
visit. Grandparents, siblings or others who are closely associated with your
family member are also encouraged to visit. Throughout the admissions
process you will be able to meet with the staff to discuss any issues
regarding your family member's move to New England Village. A two to three
day permissions visit is also suggested. This will give your family member
the opportunity to participate in the daily routine of the house, to take part
in the work program, and to enjoy recreational activities.
