THE PREPARATION
(Page 1)
On November 16th, over 100 people attended NEV’s
biennial black tie Fall Formal event which took place at the Ridder Country Club in
Whitman. The men looked dashing in their tuxedos, and the women
were stunning in their dresses.
The planning of this event started back in July. A
committee consisting of 10 residents, along with Ginger Comeau and Deb
Quelle, planned every aspect of this night including creating the
beautiful centerpieces for each table. Committee members included Beth
Bradshaw, Bobby Poth, Rita Limauro, Heidi Ward, Mary Bastian, Jessica
Simoes, Allan Feldman, Michael Hackmeyer, Peter Burden and Donna
Burke.
Although the evening proved to be a chilly one, the two
fireplaces in the function room cast a warm glow throughout the
night. Dinner was a choice of baked scrod or glazed grilled
chicken served with rice pilaf and mixed vegetables.
Dessert was a fall favorite – apple crisp with a scoop of
vanilla ice cream.
The dance floor was crowded all night and Guest DJ Dave
Becker kept the music upbeat and even threw in a few tunes on his
saxophone. The group was also serenaded by NEV’s own Kenny Delmonte
who sang “Close to You” by Karen Carpenter. Great job Kenny!
Looking
forward to doing in again in 2009!
