Clay Explorations

Participants in this class had an opportunity to use hand building techniques to create “wall pockets” made of clay. Clay was rolled out the first week and shaped into the pocket. Students then chose a texture to transfer onto their clay using a pattern sheet and a rolling pin. The clay piece was then fired and was ready for glazing at the second class. Everyone chose the color for their piece and sponged the paint on using a small sea sponge. This will go back in the kiln for one more round of firing and then will be ready for displaying!
