Adult Ed Winter Sculpture Class

Participants in this
3-part Adult Ed class created sculpted animals using paper machè.

Class one involved creating the foundation.  Participants decided upon an animal to sculpt and began by forming the torso, the largest mass of each animal, using aluminum foil, paper and masking tape. Giving shape to ears, claws & paws was easy when using the aluminum foil.  In class two, participants applied a layer of paper machè over the foundation.  In the final class, the artists added color and realistic features: whiskers, claws, and painted details to illustrate the texture of the animals skin/coat.  The group was pretty proud of their finished product.
